Secure Yourself at Cyber Café

You are away from Laptop or Internet Connection. And you are in hurry and you have to send a very important Email then what you will do??

Go to Cyber Café!!

But sometime café person or someone else has installed keylogger which will store your keystrokes and whatever you enter there. And they will be able to hack your all online accounts username/password include banks detail (if you use internet banking or use debit/credit card to purchase online) which you accessed there.

Cyber cafes are not safest place to surf, almost 85% of the cyber crime are originated from Cyber Café becoz cyber café is a public place & also 100% safe for hacker to do any type of practical. Many malicious program or keylogger are waiting to hack your personal information over the web. From this they can get bank details & credit/debit card no.

So, Here we will discuss how to be safe from these keyloggers installed in cyber cafes using simple precautions:-

·        Never Use Online  Transaction in a Cyber Café:

1.   Don’t t use internet banking & don’t use debit/credit card to purchase online like- online recharge, online booking movie tickets, online booking railways & airways tickets…ect from Cyber Cafe.

2.   If you are in emergence & u have to use your credit/debit card to purchase online anything (IRCTC) then also don’t use credit/debit card to purchase online. In emergence use internet banking to purchase online but it’s important to use of online virtual keyboard at the time of login to your online bank account.

·        Virtual Keyboard:

Many of the website like the banking websites uses an online virtual keyboard, which works on a click of the button that you use to protect yourself from malwares, spywares & keyloggers.

Default Vitual Keyboard comes in any windows GO to Start->Accessories->Accesibility->On-Screen Keyboard.

A virtual keyboard is just on accessibility tool & the default virtual keyboard can bypass only hardware keyloggers. So, Always use virtual keyboard in Cyber café.

·        Must use Keyscrambler to protect yourself from keylogger:

 Note:- In cyber café to have to first install keyscramble software before u start session in cyber café. But most of cyber café owner use guste account so u don’t install any third party software on their OS/PC. So, u tell cyber café owner to install keyscramble software to protect yourself from keyloggers.

·        Regularly change your passwords :

 If you are using cyber café regularly then about 80% chance that you are hacked means it’s possible that your online account is watched or use by hacker. So, regularly change your password through your own computer or laptop.

·        Always Use different passwords for different online account.

·        Remember to uncheck the “Remember me on this computer” option to prevent the password hacking.

·        Always Turn off Auto complete option before start session in cyber café:

          Turn off Auto complete option in “Internet Explorer”

Just follow these steps:

Open “IE” & Go to Tools >> Internet Option >> Content Tab >> AutoComplete >>  Uncheck ‘forms’ and ‘usernames-password’

In case of Firefox Go to Tools >> Options >> Security >> Password >>  Uncheck remember passwords

·        Always Use the option to clear the browsing data:

When you finish your session in cyber café, then do this without fail. Go to tools >> Internet options & choose the clear browsing data in Internet Explorer, clear the following like, download history, cache, cookies and data from other site, saved passwords and auto fill options.

·        Always Logout properly after completed session in cyber café:

 I have noticed many time you forgot to logout properly while using messenger.

Always Logout properly

Do you know your conversation also might can be stored in yahoo messenger.

So, go to yahoo messenger Preferences >>  Archive >> Check on clear when I sign out.

·        Use Google 2-step Authentication/verification:

 If you are regularly use cyber café & you want to 90% safe from hacker then use only gmail account for every purpose becoz google give you security like 2-step Authentication/verification.

·        Scan your Pen Drive with original & update antivirus:

 If u use pen drive in cyber café then always scan your pen drive with original & update antivirus before using it becoz when you use pen drive in cyber café, a lot of virus / Remote Keyloggers(RATs) file is transfer is your pen drive & when you use that pen drive in your personal computer/laptop then virus/remote keyloggers automatically installed & your data is hacked.

·        Use Update Cyber Café Only:

 Whenever you use cyber café then use update cyber café only means about 60% of café owner use wingows xp OS for their computers. They don’t use original & update antivirus(demo) & you easily hacked by hacker becoz windows xp is outdated & windows xp firewall not detected any type of virus (keylogger, RATs…..ect). So, use internet with that cyber café who give you everything update like Windows 7 OS with original & update antivirus & u get fast speed also.

If you always take care of above precaution than your account will be 95% safe at cafe.
